About the Saints

The Saints

The Joyful Noise Marching Saints is a Christian, multi-category, award-winning homeschool marching band founded in 2008. Our founder, Susan Davis, had a simple but powerful vision: no home-educated child should miss out on the joy and opportunity of learning music because it isn’t available or affordable. That same mission continues to guide our band to this day.

We’re more than just a band — we’re a family. Students and parents alike find a welcoming, supportive environment built on faith, encouragement, and community. Our rehearsals, performances, and trips foster lifelong friendships and teach valuable life lessons about teamwork, discipline, leadership, and perseverance.

Through the dedication of our directors, instructors, and parent volunteers, we provide a full and authentic marching band experience — just like those found in traditional schools — at an affordable cost. Thanks to our community supporters, we offer high school–level band opportunities for students ages 12 and up, featuring Winds, Percussion, and Color Guard.

Why Join the Saints?

Being part of the Marching Saints gives homeschool students a place to belong, grow, and shine. Members gain:

  • Teamwork and leadership skills — learning to work toward a common goal.

  • Confidence and discipline — developed through practice, performance, and perseverance.

  • Lifelong friendships — built on shared experiences and encouragement.

  • Creative expression — through music, movement, and artistry.

  • Community involvement — sharing their gifts at public events and celebrations.
Our students don’t just learn music — they learn life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.

What We Do

The Joyful Noise Marching Saints perform throughout the community — at football games, parades, competitions, and special events. Each performance is an opportunity to share our music, teamwork, and faith-filled spirit.

Halftime Shows

The Saints have proudly performed for The King’s Academy, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, and The North Georgia Falcons. During games, we keep the stands alive with energetic pep tunes that rally the home team and crowd. At halftime, our professionally arranged field shows — featuring new themes each year — bring music and movement together in a high-energy performance audiences love.

Our Jr. Pep Band gives younger students their first experience of marching band life. These talented beginners play alongside the full band in the stands, learning by doing and discovering the fun of being part of something bigger than themselves. It’s the perfect stepping stone for siblings and students eager to “play with the band.”

Parades

Each year, The Saints bring energy and enthusiasm to two to four local parades, sharing joy, music, and community spirit with thousands of spectators.

Festivals & Competitions

As a competitive marching band, The Saints participate in two to three competitions each fall. Judges provide valuable feedback that helps our students and instructors continue to grow and improve. We are proud to consistently earn “Excellent” and “Superior” ratings — but for us, the true reward is the growth, camaraderie, and confidence that come from giving our best together.

A Band Family with a Purpose

Our band isn’t just about performing — it’s about belonging. Families form lasting friendships, students gain mentors and role models, and everyone has a place to contribute. Whether on the field, in rehearsal, or cheering from the sidelines, our members are surrounded by people who care, encourage, and celebrate one another.
