Theatre Mondays
Inspire. Create. Perform
Theatre Mondays at Joyful Noise Homeschool Academy of the Arts is a comprehensive performing arts program designed specifically for homeschool students seeking high-quality, Christ-centered theatre education. Our conservatory-style approach combines classroom instruction with real production experience, allowing students to grow as performers, artists, and confident communicators.
Students receive rigorous training in acting, musical theatre, dance, improvisation, technical theatre, and performance while developing creativity, discipline, collaboration, and leadership. Whether a student is stepping onto the stage for the first time or preparing for advanced performance opportunities, Theatre Mondays provides a supportive environment where every performer is encouraged to pursue excellence.
Our curriculum is intentionally designed to give students a well-rounded education in every aspect of theatrical arts—from performance and choreography to the technical elements that bring productions to life.
Arts Immersion
Full-Day Performing Arts Program for Junior Students
Our Arts Immersion Program offers homeschool families a full-day drop-off experience that combines exceptional performing arts education with a structured, engaging learning environment.
Designed for elementary and middle school students, Arts Immersion provides comprehensive instruction in acting, improvisation, dance, and musical theatre, allowing students to experience multiple performing arts disciplines throughout the day.
Through technique classes, creative workshops, rehearsals, and collaborative performances, students develop confidence, communication skills, stage presence, creativity, and teamwork while building a strong foundation in the performing arts.
Rather than focusing on a single discipline, Arts Immersion encourages students to become well-rounded performers while discovering their individual strengths. Experienced instructors provide personalized guidance in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where every child is challenged to grow both artistically and personally.
Classes Offered
Dance I
Students are introduced to the fundamentals of dance through instruction in multiple disciplines, including ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, musicality, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, and stage presence while building a strong technical foundation for musical theatre performance.
Dance II
Designed for students with previous dance experience or instructor placement, Dance II expands upon foundational skills through more advanced training in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Students refine technique, improve strength, increase flexibility, develop performance quality, and learn choreography that prepares them for musical theatre productions and live performances.
Acting
Students strengthen their craft through scene study, script analysis, character development, audition preparation, stage movement, vocal projection, and performance techniques. Instruction focuses on developing both individual performance skills and strong ensemble collaboration.
Junior Improv
Creative games and interactive exercises help students build confidence, imagination, communication skills, teamwork, and quick thinking while learning the fundamentals of improvisational theatre.
High School Improv
Advanced improvisation develops storytelling, character creation, comedic timing, spontaneity, and performance technique while encouraging creativity and confidence on stage.
Technical Theatre
Great productions depend on more than performers. Technical Theatre provides hands-on instruction in scenic construction, set painting, props, lighting, sound, costumes, backstage management, and production operations. Students gain valuable technical skills while becoming an essential part of every stage production.
Cabaret Performance
Our newest performance class provides individualized coaching designed to help each student reach their full potential. Every participant receives opportunities for solo vocals, featured acting performances, and personalized instruction in stage presence, vocal technique, character interpretation, and audition preparation.
Cabaret is especially valuable for students who may traditionally perform ensemble roles, providing additional opportunities to develop the confidence and skills needed to pursue featured and leading roles in future productions.
The Homeschool Players
The Homeschool Players is the premier musical theatre company of Joyful Noise Homeschool Academy of the Arts. This award-winning company provides homeschool students with an exceptional production experience that reflects the expectations of collegiate and professional theatre programs while maintaining a supportive, Christ-centered environment.
Company members participate in a complete production season that includes auditions, rehearsals, choreography, vocal instruction, character development, technical rehearsals, and fully staged public performances. Students are challenged to pursue excellence while developing responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and professionalism.
Every production is an opportunity for students to apply the skills learned in class while creating meaningful theatre that inspires audiences and builds lifelong friendships.
